smorgasBoard extra: Applications invited for BoardWalk Leadership Stimulus Grants

While Washington talks, we are taking action.

At a time when many donors and sponsors are reducing their support for nonprofits, we at BoardWalk sense a pent-up but underfunded demand for the leadership consulting at the heart of our reputation.

To unleash this demand, we have decided to increase our investment in the sector by launching a new initiative, the BoardWalk Leadership Stimulus Grants.

Nonprofits or foundations contemplating a material leadership project in our field of expertise--executive search, board enrichment, and strategic or structural planning--are invited to submit an application for one of three grants we will offer. Our BoardWalk Leadership Stimulus Grant will cover one-half the cost of a new engagement. As usual, clients will be responsible for hard costs such as travel.

The application process is simple, and our decisions will be quick. Submit an application by February 27, 2009, and we will select the grant recipients in early March. Work on the three projects will commence immediately thereafter.

BoardWalk will hold informational sessions on February 17 and 20 at our offices in Atlanta; an informational call will be arranged for those unable to attend in person.
